- Backing Up Your Internet Account Details
Back it Up, Back it In, Let Me Begin…
Broadband. So fast has it ensconced itself in our lives that we rarely even think about it. Until something goes wrong. It’s become one of those details in life, like your plumbing, or your car, that you can safely rely on the vast majority of the time. And yet, when your internet finally has a glitch, it’s a huge headache – not least because the resources to help you get back online are largely available… online! Filling in a pro forma and emailing it to your ISP is simply not possible.
Which is why you should keep details of your internet account details as hard copy at home. You should file them away along with thee call centre number of your ISP’s customer service department, so that you can not only make the call when necessary, but you have all the relevant information to provide the person helping you.
It’s worth thinking about this when you first decide on an internet provider. A company like Sky offers bundles including phone services and home broadband, so you know you can talk to, if not the right person, at least someone who will be able to connect you to the right person. If you, like a growing number of people, use only a mobile and not a landline, you will need all the account information to hand before you can proceed. Keeping an old bill on file should suffice. You can also download a password application for your phone, which keeps your information safe but accessible.
Good internet service is something we have very quickly come to expect as a minimum requirement, so it really pays to prepare yourself in advance for any problems, otherwise you’re going to feel quite stuck. Don’t get caught in a Catch 22 situation with your internet account. Check out the Sky website for more info on superfast broadband.
